D’Angelico Guitars’ Flagship Excel EXL-1 Upgraded for 2018

NEW YORK—April 2018— Both the flagship model in the D’Angelico product line and a true reissue of a D’Angelico original, the Excel EXL-1 has been a fan favorite and an archtop purist’s dream come true in the six years since the brand’s reignition.

Now for 2018, the Excel EXL-1 boasts new features to bolster both tone and aesthetics. A Johnny Smith Mini-humbucker offers even more organic, warm archtop tone, while split-block inlays and a scroll-style fingerboard bevel harken back to the days of Art Deco decadence. As a brand new addition to the line, the EXL-1 will be available in a stunning iced tea burst finish for the first time.
