D’Angelico Guitars Launch New Products, Host Artist Performances, and Throw Private Bob Weir Event at Winter NAMM 2018

NEW YORKFebruary 2018At the 2018 Winter NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, D’Angelico Guitars displayed their entire product line—including a huge number of new product offerings. The booth also hosted dozens of artist performances, featuring stars like Bob Weir, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Isaiah Sharkey, Brandon “Taz” Niederauer, and more. The brand handed out more than 2,000 free sets of their Electrozinc strings and over 7,000 attendees signed up to participate in D’Angelico’s guitar giveaway. Congratulations to our winner, Curt Henderson from Canada!

New Products

For the first time in the company’s 85-year history, D’Angelico Guitars debuted their all-new line of solid-body electric guitars at the 2018 Winter NAMM Show—and the positive feedback was overwhelming.

Designed in New York City over the course of 2017, the designs balance D’Angelico’s largely semi-hollow and hollowbody product line as feedback-resistant instruments with tremendous sustain and tonal versatility while still maintaining the aesthetics and craftsmanship that define the brand. Introduced as a collection sharing cosmetic features and similar electronics setups, the Bedford, Ludlow and Atlantic will be available in both the Premier and Deluxe Series to ensure accessibility for a range of players. Premier Series solid-bodies start at $699 MAP; Deluxe Series solid-bodies start at $1199 MAP. Available at all D’Angelico authorized dealers March 2018.

D’Angelico also premiered new additions to each of its three series: Premier, Excel and Deluxe. The Premier Series saw the addition of the all-new ocean turquoise finish on electric models, as well as the new DC 12-string string semi-hollow, and two new acoustic models—the mini-dreadnought Niagara and the aged natural Bowery. For the Excel Series, new electronics and aesthetic updates for the flagship EXL-1 archtop and DC semi-hollow models. And six bold new finishes were debuted in the Deluxe Series.

Bob Weir Private Event

For the second year in a row, Bob Weir put on a private showcase at the D’Angelico booth on the opening night of the 2018 Winter NAMM Show. Playing a set of both Grateful Dead tunes and Bob Weir solo material, Weir invited Isaiah Sharkey (John Mayer / D’Angelo), Jay Lane (RatDog / Primus), Paul ILL (Disreputable Few), and Wally Ingram (Sheryl Crow / Jackson Browne) to join him. Weir featured his signature Bob Weir SS model and also previewed his upcoming signature Bedford solid-body.
